NOVA'S CREATOR CARD
Nova is a talented and multifaceted creator, combining her skills as a producer, drag queen, recording artist, and makeup special effects artist. Inspired by her father, a radio broadcaster in Jamaica, and her personal journey of self-reflection, Nova entered the creative world during the COVID-19 pandemic. She found herself drawn to burlesque and drag, seeing these forms of expression as ways to connect with diverse cultures and create art that speaks authentically.
Her passion lies in using music and art to forge deep connections with people, striving to make others feel like they are part of a larger community. Nova’s journey has been marked by challenges, including overcoming insecurity and perfectionism when she joined music school in 2021, where she felt out of place in a room full of men. Despite these obstacles, her ultimate goal is to have people talk about the art she creates and to share her work with a wider audience.
Through Creative X Society (CXS), Nova hopes to gain more exposure and connect with like-minded creators. She is excited about the prospect of networking, collaborating, and winning alongside others in the creative community. With her sights set on releasing her first two songs and becoming more involved in drag events on the East Coast, Nova is eager to expand her presence and continue growing as an artist. If she could collaborate with any artist, Nova would choose Sasha Velor, an underground New York drag queen, to explore new and niche creative opportunities.
